Open Translation Engine (OTE) Installation ------------ - Requirements: PHP 5.x with multibyte functions enabled MySQL 5.x (For PHP 4.x / MySQL 4.x installs, see notes at end of this file) - Download the latest stable released version from: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=48619 - Extract the download and put the files in a web accessible directory on your server - Copy /settings.php-dist to: /settings.php - Edit /settings.php for your system database access, language, and view settings - edit /.htaccess for correct pathname to 404.php file (if you get server errors, you may also remove the php_value settings) - edit /robots.txt for correct pathnames - create the OTE database via import of: /sql/create.database.sql - create the OTE tables via import of: /sql/create.tables.sql (also creates user 'admin' password 'admin') - Change the 'admin' user password: Open the home page in your browser Click 'Users' in the bottom footer menu Click your username 'admin' Type in a new password and click 'Modify' - Edit templates as required (optional) - /templates/default/ directory contains all templating files and settings - you can edit the default templates, or copy the default directory and rename it, then use this new template directory in the global /settings.php file - templates.settings.php contains text messages and template-specific settings - Import sample dictionary data (optional) - Login as admin - click 'Import' from homepage - select language pair, delimiter, and paste in your import text - sample dictionary files can be found in /samples/ - Get Involved! see: /docs/developer.documentation.txt -------------------------------------------------- - For latest development version, checkout from SVN: svn co https://ote.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/ote ote Also see /docs/developer.documentation.txt for more info -------------------------------------------------- - OTE depends on the web server running files with no extension as PHP files.
